The day I have been dreading has finally come. My dad found out I want to play football. I don't know what he thought about it because he didn't say anything about it. He just walked away. Even worse, a few days ago after practice some Hawley players were in Red Bend parking lot harassing us after practice. One of them was Brian. The look of shock on his face was horrible! I can only imagine what he was thinking about me, but it probally wasn't anything good.
The coach called out of the blue to suit up for the game. My heart sunk. I would have to play against Brian. The game was awesome! I scored the first touch down! That was really cool. I played alot during the game and I think I did a pretty good job. Dad the best part of all was that my family was there. My dad even told me that he was proud of me. The biggest surprise was that my older brother Bill came to see me play. My family was getting along and talking to each other again. We ended up winning the game. I was really tired and banged up, but we had won the game.
The next day I felt like a tractor ran over me. Guess who came over to see me that morning? It was Brian! He come over to thank me for prainning him. We went for a walk and had a good talk. It felt good. And guess what I think he wasnts me to be his girlfriend! Life is good! (p.220-275 Dairy Queen)

Holy Cow
My best friend Amber and I had a big fight the other day. She saw Brian and I goofing around, and she got all mad about it. I didn't know why,but now I do. Amber was in love with me. I can't be believe that I never knew my best friend was in love with me! That's why she was upset about me liking Brian. I don't know what to think about that.
I really had to do something about my hair. I couldn't fit my ponytail under my helmet. When I had to drive my younger brother to a banquet in Madison I had my hair cut short. It really looks good on me, I think.
My Mom found out about me wanting to play football. She told me that just because my brothers played football didn't mean that I had to. I told her I was doing it because it made me feel Happy, not because of my brothers. My Dad still doesn't know about me wanting to play.
Some how I got myself to the practice field. Now I had to get out there with the boys. They were surprised to see me there, but they seemed ok with it. I made it through the practice and was able to keep up with the boys. I even did better than some of them! So far things were going well.

My Big Idea
Brian and I were really getting into a good routine. The more I practiced with him the more I wanted to play football myself. So I decided to go talk to coach Peterson about it. He didn't even act surprised when I told him I wanted to play football. He just told me you know that you have to bring your english grade up. Which I had totally forgotten about. So I had to go talk to my english teacher to work something out with her.
Me and Brian continued with our practices. I really liked having him around. He is so easy to talk to. But I haven't told him about my plans to play football. I've only told coach Peterson and Mrs. Stolze my english teacher. (p.110-165 Dairy Queen)

Me Brian's Trainer
I can't believe it I am actually going to be Brian's trainer. We only agreed going to be Brian's trainer. We only agreed on a week of training. The thing I hated most about this a secret from my parents and Amber, but things worked out alright. I actually really liked having Brian around. Then I didn't have to do all of the farm work by myself.
When the week was up I really stayed to miss having Brian around. Then I started to think about if he were to continue to train it would keep getting easier for him. Jimmy Ott would also really be impressed if he decide to keep training. I decided to call him to ask if he wanted to keep training. I was surprised when he told me that he got a job as a lifeguard,so he said no. Then one day when was milking there he was which really surprised me. He told me that he had changed his mind. I am glad he changed his mind.

Why Me?
Why would Jimmy Ott ask me of all people to be Brian's trainer? Even if I watched my brothers train for football. I guess Jimmy must think alot of me if he wants me to consider training Brain. This is going to be a decision that I will have to think about for a while. Just think Brian would have to listen to what I tell him to do. Who knows maybe we can become friends? I don't know how I'll get him to listen to me. Why should he? I'm just a girl. He'll just have to get used to taking orders from a girl pretty quick if he wants to be a starter for football!
